Gilmore’s Light Ensemble Performs at the Historic Great Falls Tavern

 

On Saturday, December 2nd at 1: oo pm, join the Gilmore’s Light Ensemble as they perform 19th Century holiday songs and carols. 

 

The Gilmore’s Light Ensemble plays and sings traditional 19th Century holiday music using hammered dulcimer, guitar, banjo, mandolin, and accordion wearing clothing of the mid-1800’s. Come and join in the festive mood of the holiday season during the concert. Light refreshments will be served. 

 

The concert lasts until 4:00 pm and is free. There is entrance fee to the park of $5.00 per single vehicle. 

 

The Great Falls area of the C & O Canal National Historical Park is located at the intersection of Falls Rd. and MacArthur Blvd. in Potomac, Maryland. For more information about Gilmore’s Light Ensemble concertand the park, call 301-767-3714.

Did You Know?
There are several gold mines in the Great Falls area. The largest of these is the Maryland Mine located at the intersection of Falls Road and MacArthur Boulevard near Potomac, Maryland. Gold was first discovered here by a Union soldier from Pennsylvania during the Civil War.
