Channel Islands Live Distance Learning

Not every student can get to the islands, so Channel Islands Live education programs bring the park and its unique resources to schools. Students interact live with national park rangers on a remote island off the southern California coast using video conferencing equipment or free software that can be downloaded online.

The park's education programs are FREE and are aligned with

Live Dives for Students are offered from underwater within one of most diverse marine ecosystems in the world, the giant kelp forest. These programs focus on topics such as kelp forest ecology, marine protected areas, and scientific monitoring techniques.

Live Hikes for Students are offered from scenic overlooks on Anacapa Island and concentrate on American Indian culture and island isolation/biogeography.
