A special book signing and lecture to feature Tim Hauf's latest photo book "Channel Islands National Park and National Marine Sanctuary: California's Galapagos" will be held at the Channel Islands National Park Robert J. Lagomarsino Visitor Center on Thursday, November 14, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.
This publication is Hauf's eleventh book and the third photo essay he has produced on the Channel Islands. The book features some stunning images from the five islands and surrounding waters. Most of the 225 images in this new publication were taken in the past two to five years. Hauf has been an avid photographer at the Channel Islands for over 20 years.
The book signing, hosted by Western National Parks Association, includes a 6:00 pm presentation where Hauf will share stories of his extensive travels to the five national park islands and the many hours he waited to capture some of these images.
Hauf's photographs will be part of an exhibit at the park visitor center from November 14, 2013, through January 5, 2014. This photo display is sponsored by the Channel Islands Park Foundation, a non profit partner that supports the park in inspiring visitors to make a lasting connection with the Channel Islands through preservation, restoration, and education programs. Hauf is donating a percentage of the sales proceeds from this exhibit to the foundation.Hauf has been a professional photographer since the early 1990s. His photographs have been featured in numerous publications including Sunset, Asia Pacific Travel, USA Today, National Geographic, and Smithsonian. His list of published books includes unique destinations such as the Himalayas of Nepal; South America's remote Patagonia; the rugged wilderness of northern Manitoba, Canada; South Africa's remarkable World Heritage Sites; Ventura County; and Channel Islands National Park.
