Charles and Micki Dischinger

Charles Dischinger studied art and photography at Missouri State University and obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1971. Dischinger has worked as a Commercial Artist and photo Retoucher before beginning a railroad as a Locomotive Engineer, Yardmaster, and Safety Representative

Charles has been widely published throughout the transportation industry including company magazines for the; Frisco, Burlington Northern and BNSF Railways. Other publications include Trains, CTC Board, Railfan & Railroad, Model Railroader, Railroad Model Craftsmen, Prototype Modeler, etc. Pictures have also appeared in national ads and calendars for companies like General Electric and Trinity.

Charles and his wife Micki have taken pictures that have won awards both local and national awards from organizations; like, Center for Railroad Photography and Art, Trains magazine, Railfan and Railroad magazine, National Model Railroad Association, Southwest Missouri Camera Club and Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield. In addition, many of Charles’s pictures grace the walls of the BNSF Railway headquarter s in Ft. Worth Texas. He currently has several pictures illustrating part of the museum at Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield.

Past President of the Southwest Missouri Camera Club and educator helping to teach other photographers how to take better pictures by using digital programs like Photoshop.

Charles and his wife, Micki Dischinger, will be at Chiricahua National Monument for two weeks sharing their gift of photography.
