Tornado storm shelters are located in Sulphur, OK at the following locations:

1. Sulphur High School Safe Room
(North at West Ninth Street light and East at Muskogee St.)

2. City Maintenance Yard (turn west off 14th St. between Kerr Pump
and DT's Storage)

Both of the lakes found in the Chickasaw National Recreation Area are man-made reservoirs. Veterans Lake was built by the WPA in 1936 and added to the park in 1983. The Lake of the Arbuckles was built by the Bureau of Reclamation in 1963 and managed as a separate park until 1976. More...
