Chickasaw National Recreation Area
Volkssport trail routes

The Wandergruppe Walking Club of Oklahoma City sponsors walks of varying lengths on the trails of the Chickasaw National Recreation Area. The Wandergruppe Walking Club is an affiliate of the American Volkssport Association, which promotes walking, cycling, swimming, and cross-country skiing.

Each route is a self-guided activity available year-round that uses existing trails in the Platt Historic District. The five-kilometer route follows the Veterans Lake trail while the ten and fourteen kilometer routes follow different trails to showcase the creeks and springs of the Platt District.  More information on these routes is available at the front desk of the Travertine Nature Center.
