    Chickasaw National Recreation area is warning all boat users to be cautious while boating on Lake of the Arbuckles due to low water levels in the lake. More »

  • Swimming Areas Closed

    Due to low water flow in Travertine Creek, the Little Niagara, Panther Falls, and Bear Falls swimming areas are closed until further notice. The Little Niagara and Panther Falls picnic areas remain open.

  • Eagle Bay Boat Launch Closed

    Due to low water in Lake of the Arbuckles, Eagle Bay Boat Launch is closed.

The Goddard Youth Camp
Located on the western shore of the Lake of the Arbuckles, the mission of the Goddard Youth Camp is to provide a high-quality, low-cost outdoor environmental education experience for young people utilizing the teaching tools available at the Camp and the dynamic ecology of the Arbuckle Mountains of south central Oklahoma.

The National Park Service has a memorandum of understanding with the Goddard Youth Camp giving the camp permission to operate its facility within Chickasaw National Recreation Area’s boundary. The camp was established as an environmental education facility for the use of nonprofit youth organizations, including area schools.

Chickasaw National Recreation Area is older than Grand Canyon National Park. Originally established in 1902, the park was designated Platt National Park in 1906 and redesignated Chickasaw NRA in 1976. The Grand Canyon was first designated a National Monument in 1908. More...
