In 1912, over 3,000 cherry trees were donated in the name of the City of Tokyo to our Nation's Capital. In the spirit of this grand gesture, the Trust for the National Mall invites citizens and public-spirited organizations to donate funds for the replacement and maintenance of the cherry tree grove that surrounds the Tidal Basin and adjacent areas in East and West Potomac Parks.
