Bloomin’ Junior Ranger Activities
Times: 10:00 a.m.—5:00 p.m.

Location: Near the Welcome Tent at the Tidal Basin Paddle Boat Area.
Join National Park Service rangers for FREE activities and games that relate to the cherry blossoms! The activities are both fun and instructive. Practice Japanese origami and solve puzzles while learning about Washington’s world famous cherry blossoms. Children’s activities are geared toward those aged 6-12.
Ranger-Guided Lantern Walks
Times: From 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Days: Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays
Location: Near the Welcome Tent at the Tidal Basin Paddle Boat Area.
Led by National Park Service rangers, these FREE evening walks bring new perspectives to the story of the cherry trees. Soft light turns to darkness along the Tidal Basin, during these strolls through the annual glory of the blooming of the cherry trees. Follow the history of these precious resources on this two-hour, 1.5-mile long walking tour around the Tidal Basin. Please wear comfortable shoes and bring your own flashlight.
Interpretive Cherry Blossom Talks
Daily, at: 10:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 5:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m.

Come to one or several of the FREE cherry blossom lectures presented by National Park Service rangers. No two rangers deliver the same program! These presentations relate the cultural and natural stories behind these national treasures. Story topics range from the arrival of the cherry trees in Washington, D.C., to the "Cherry Tree Rebellion" that placed the construction of the Thomas Jefferson Memorial in jeopardy, to the varieties of cherry trees that grow throughout the park.
Ranger-Led Bike Tours
When: From 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Days: Saturdays and Sundays
Location: Thomas Jefferson Memorial plaza near the Tidal Basin
Take advantage of the extended park coverage that our FREE, three-hour long bike tours allow. On the convenience of two wheels, visitors will experience the glory of Washington’s cherry blossoms as National Park Service rangers unfold the story during journeys from Hains Point to the grounds of the Washington Monument and beyond. Learn about these treasured trees and truly make a visit to Washington, D.C. complete during the annual blooming of the cherry trees. No two tours are ever the same!
All participants MUST provide their own bicycle, bike helmet, and water.
