  • Mountain Beautiful Trail Closure on Lookout Mountain

    Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park is advising the Mountain Beautiful Trail will be closed effective January 2, 2013, and will remain closed until further notice. It is located on the east side of Lookout Mountain, above the Hardy Trail.

Operating Hours & Seasons

All units of Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park are open between 6:00 a.m. Eastern Time and sunset.

  • Chickamauga Battlefield Visitor Center is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Time.
  • Lookout Mountain Battlefield Visitor Center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Time in off-seasons. The Visitor Center is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern Time in the summer.

Both Visitor Centers are closed on Christmas Day and on New Years Day.

The historic Cravens House on Lookout Mountain is open for tours Saturday and Sunday afternoon from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. during the summer. Cravens House closes at 5:00 p.m. Contact Lookout Mountain Battlefield Visitor Center at 423-821-7786 for additional information.

The summer season provides a wider variety of ranger led programs for the public. Please check back for our summer programming schedule.

The summer season is from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
