Park to Host Volunteer Project and Waive Entrance Fees for National Public Lands Day 2015

Lookout Mountain, TN: Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park is pleased to host a volunteer project on Lookout Mountain and to announce the waiver of entrance fees to Point Park, atop Lookout Mountain, on National Public Lands Day, Saturday, September 26, 2015.

Join staff at 8:30 am at Cravens House for a volunteer trail project at Lookout Mountain on the Mountain Beautiful Trail. All tools, supplies, and gloves will be provided by the park, and lunch will be provided by the Friends of the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own water bottle. This project is scheduled to end by 1 pm. National Public Lands Day is the nation's largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance the public lands Americans enjoy, and all 408 national parks will offer free entrance on September 26.More than 185,000 volunteers are expected to help restore lands at approximately 2,200 sites used for recreation, education, exercise, and connecting with nature.
