Partners and Volunteers
Volunteer at the Cherry Blossom Festival!
It's time for the Cherry Blossom Festival at National Mall and Memorial Parks -March 28 to April 12th! We simply cannot pull off this gargantuan event without your help. Join in the fun and excitement! Hundreds of thousands of visitors coming out to enjoy the beautiful cherry trees means a lot of waste in the park, much of which can be recycled. This is where YOU come in!
What Will I do?
We want to make sure that recyclables are diverted from the waste stream and we need your help to accomplish this. Volunteers will rove the busiest areas of the festival and collect recyclables using trash grabbers, and help remove full bags from recycling containers and replace them with empty bags. Gloves, trash grabbers, and a cool shirt will be provided.
When Can I Volunteer?
Two time slots are available: 11am-3pm and 3:30pm -7pm every day of the event, but our biggest need is the weekend of April 10-12. We can certainly be flexible with times. Come make a difference and keep the park clean while helping to ensure the preservation of these living legacies to international friendship. Thank you, friends, for all that you do. We look forward to seeing you!
Who Can Volunteer?
There's a cap of 50 people per time slot. We need all the help we can get! Groups and individuals of all ages are welcome.
Please contact the volunteer coordinator to sign up or if you have any questions or need more information.
