From eastbound Interstate 285
- Take exit 22, Northside Drive, New Northside Drive, Powers Ferry Road.
- Go to second traffic light and turn left onto New Northside Drive
- Use the through lane to pick up Interstate North Parkway.
- Entrance will be 0.6 miles on the right.
From westbound Interstate 285
- Take exit 22, Northside Drive, New Northside Drive, Powers Ferry Road.
- Right on to New Northside Drive.
- Use the through lane to pick up Interstate North Parkway
- Entrance will be .6 miles on the right.
Activities
Powers Island offers trails, picnic tables, and two canoe/kayak launches. One launches directly onto the Chattahoochee River, while the other launches onto an offshoot that contains a kayaking course. The course is maintained by the Atlanta Center of Excellence. To download a printable trail map

Powers Island is named for James Powers who once ferried travelers across the river.
