Cochran Shoals unit - Powers Island entrance

From eastbound Interstate 285

  • Take exit 22, Northside Drive, New Northside Drive, Powers Ferry Road.
  • Go to second traffic light and turn left onto New Northside Drive
  • Use the through lane to pick up Interstate North Parkway.
  • Entrance will be 0.6 miles on the right.

From westbound Interstate 285

  • Take exit 22, Northside Drive, New Northside Drive, Powers Ferry Road.
  • Right on to New Northside Drive.
  • Use the through lane to pick up Interstate North Parkway
  • Entrance will be .6 miles on the right.

Activities Powers Island offers trails, picnic tables, and two canoe/kayak launches. One launches directly onto the Chattahoochee River, while the other launches onto an offshoot that contains a kayaking course. History Powers Island is named for James Powers who once ferried travelers across the river.
