Directions

From I-285 East

  • Take exit 24, Riverside Drive.
  • Left for 2.3 miles to Johnson Ferry Road.
  • Left, then cross the river and an immediate right into the unit.

From I-285 West

  • Take exit 24, Riverside Drive.
  • Right for 2.3 miles to Johnson Ferry Road.
  • Left, then cross the river and an immediate right into the unit.

From GA 9 North, Roswell Road to Johnson Ferry Road

  • Right onto Johnson Ferry Road, go 2.2 miles
  • Cross the river and take immediate right into the unit.

From GA 9 South, Roswell Road to Johnson Ferry Road

  • Left onto Johnson Ferry Road, go 2.2 miles
  • Cross the river and take immediate right into the unit.

Activities

Johnson Ferry North has 2.5 miles of trails that are excellent for viewing plants and wildlife. There is a boat launch and a covered pavilion that is a great place to relax after a hike. To download a printable map click here (Requires Adobe Reader.)

Did You Know?

Jones Bridge ruins - Photo by Matt Harr

Jones Bridge spanned the Chattahoochee River from 1904-1922, falling into disrepair in the 1930's. Half of the bridge was "stolen" in 1940, neighbors didn't know the workers cutting the bridge were not authorized to do so until it was too late.
