Disturbed Lands

The region is also facing other environmental factors like air quality, drought, and invasive, nonnative plants. Mimosa trees, Princess trees, bamboo, kudzu, and privet are a few of the exotic plants in the park. These plants use the nutrients in the soil and take up space that belongs to the native plants. The problem is the exotic plants do not provide the proper food and nutrients for the native wildlife. The diverse native flora is lost to a few non-native species.
