Chamizal National Memorial, situated within the world’s largest international twin cities (Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua and El Paso, Texas, respectively), was established to commemorate the Chamizal Convention of 1963. This convention peacefully ended a nearly century long border dispute between the United States and Mexico that was caused ultimately by the changing course of the Rio Grande. Today, Chamizal National Memorial serves as an international cultural center. Chamizal promotes the culture of the United States-Mexico borderland through interpretation, education, and the arts. This section of our webpage is dedicated to sharing the culture of this border region with our readers. Click on the link below to learn more about Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead).
