When entering the park, watch out for road crew on April 16. Flaggers are on site to guide traffic to the visitor center. The vistor center and Volcano Road are open. Please call for more information.
Capulin Volcano National Monument's official newspaper contains current news, schedules, and information about the park. Capulin Volcano National Monument publishes the Capulin Chronicle biannually in May and October. These publications are freely distributed by the park and may be downloaded from this page. Distinctive projectile points found in 1928 imbedded amongst bones from an extinct Bison stunned archeologists and changed the known date of human arrival in the new world from 3,000 years ago to more than 10,000 years ago. The points were named Folsom after the nearby town.
