Capulin Volcano erupted in the middle of the 8000 square mile Raton-Clayton Volcano Field. From the top of Capulin, visitors can view nearly the entire field. The pictures below show many of the prominent features around Capulin beginning from the southeast with Capulin's first lava flow and circling to the north, west and then south.

Did You Know?
Sierra Grande is the largest feature in the Raton-Clayton Volcanic Field. An andesite shield volcano, it is 5 miles in diameter and reaches an elevation of 8720 feet.
