Park Closing for Special Event

On Monday July 28th, the park will be closed from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The park will remain open in the morning from 9:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m.

Suggestions For Your Visit

We suggest spending 2 1/2 hours to enjoy the site. Take a half-hour guided house tour ($5 fee), visit the dairy goat barn and stroll over five miles of trails that the Sandburg family enjoyed.

Temperate with temperatures ranging from high twenties Fahrenheit in the winter months to high eighties in the summer months. Humidity levels vary throughout the year tending to be higher in the morning hours. Monthly precipitation averages three inches, which is a little over the U.S. average.
