You can make a gift directly to the park by sending a check to: Cane River Creole National Historical Park Your check will be deposited in a government account and the full amount will be spent as you intended. Did You Know?
The shaded avenues of live oak trees were called "Allées". In addition to sheltering the house entrances from strong Louisiana sunlight, the trees helped to cool by drafting breezes from the river.
