Be aware that you may encounter rip currents and rough surf conditions when swimming or surfing. The presence of stinging jelly fish on the beach is also common.  Avoid getting too close.

Carry ample drinking water with you & protect yourself from the bright sun and biting insects.

Afternoon thunderstorms with abundant lightning are a frequent occurence during the summer; wait out storms in your vehicle or under shelter. 

Lifeguard Stations are manned 10:00am to 5:00pm, from Memorial Day to Labor Day. They are located at:

Apollo (north district). Beach at parking lot #1

Playalinda (south district). Beach area between parking lots 1 & 2

Please remember to lock your vehicle & keep your valuables out of plain view.

Did You Know?
Canaveral National Seashore is an important nesting area for several species of threatened and endangered sea turtles. As many as 4,500 nests have been recorded each summer along the 24-miles of protected beach.
