Things To Know Before You Come
 

Restrooms & Ramps.  New Smyrna Beach, FL - North District (Apollo Beach): ADA accessible ramps to the beach are located at Parking Areas 1A, 3 & 5. The Visitor Information Center is handicap accessible, as are all restroom facilities.

A beach wheelchair is available in both districts. Ask at the Information Center in the North District (Apollo), or the Entrance Station in the South District (Playalinda). You must have assistance to use the chair.

There is an accessible trail leading to Turtle Mound Archeological Site. The boardwalk at Turtle Mound is accessible with assistance.

Seminole Rest.
  River Road, Oak Hill, FL - Seminole Rest Trail is accessible to those visitors with walking disabilities. The accessible trail includes benches along the half mile trail that provide rest areas for park visitors. The restrooms are identified for those that have visual disabilities.

Backcountry Permits
.  Visitors wishing to hike into the backcountry area of Canaveral National Seashore are required to obtain a permit at the entrance station before venturing out into that area. (details)

Titusville, FL - South District (Playalinda Beach)
ADA accessible beach ramps are located at Eddy Creek, and boardwalks:  8, 10, 11 and 12.

Did You Know?
Canaveral National Seashore is an important nesting area for several species of threatened and endangered sea turtles. As many as 4,500 nests have been recorded each summer along the 24-miles of protected beach.
