  • Haulover Canal Bridge Closure

    The Haulover Canal Bridge will be closed for construction beginning May 6, 2013. The bridge will be closed to all traffic for about 7 weeks. Access to the facilities on the north and south sides of the bridge will be open and unaffected.

  • CAUTION: TURTLE NESTING SEASON

    Please do not disturb sea turtle nests. You can also help protect nesting sea turtles and hatchlings by filling any holes you dig in the sand. Thank you.

Turtle Mound at Canaveral National Seashore, Florida

Turtle Mound is one of the tallest Native American shell mounds on the east coast of Florida. Standing almost 50 feet high, it offers a panoramic view of ocean, lagoon, and barrier island. An observer wrote, “…it gives one the impression of being on a mountaintop.”
