Spring Brings New Foals to Shackleford Banks

Harkers Island, NC Cape LookoutNational Seashore Superintendent Bob Vogel announces that the first foal of 2007 was born on Shackleford Banks in late March.    

This photo was taken with a telephoto lens when the filly was about three days old.

The herd on Shackleford Banks is cooperatively managed by the Foundation for Shackleford Horses, Inc., and Cape Lookout National Seashore.
