  • ORV Plan Comment Period Extended

    On May 23, 2014, the NPS released a Environmental Impact Statement for its Off-Road Vehicle Management Plan for a 60-day comment period, which was extended to September 4. The comment period will be extend an additional 15 days until September 19, 2014.

Off-Road Vehicle Management Plan:

This plan will guide the management decisions which allow the use of vehicles and still protect the wildlife and other resources in the seashore.

On May 23, 2014, the NPS released a Draft Environmental Impact Statement for its Off-Road Vehicle Management Plan for public comment.

Seashore Passenger Ferry Departure Site Study:

This study will examine potential sites and site considerations for a ferry operations base in the Morehead City or Beaufort area with ferry service primarily to Shackleford Banks, and also to the Cape Lookout Lighthouse area of South Core Banks, North Carolina.
