Safety

The National Park Service works to ensure balance between recreation and stewardship of natural and cultural resources throughout our parks. All visitors are require to comply with posted signage, Federal, and District of Columbia Law.

For visitor safety, all Capitol Hill Parks are closed between 12:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.

Pets:
When visiting the Capitol Hill Parks, all pets must be on leash, per District of Columbia code and Federal Law. These laws ensure the safety of not only your pet, but other visitors to the Capitol Hills Parks.

Roller Skates/Blades, Skateboards, and Scooters:
Use of roller skates/blades, skateboards, scooters, roller skis, and coasting vehicles is prohibited within the Capitol Hill Parks.

If you witness any suspicious or criminal activity within the Capitol Hills Parks, please call the U.S. Park Police at 202-610-7500.
