Due to the popularity of the February tracking program, Cape Cod National Seashore will once again host professional tracker C. Diane Boretos, who will lead a free field lesson in using good detective skills to discover the wildlife that abounds beyond our view. This program will take place on April 12th from 9 AM to 12 noon, and will teach tracking skills which will sharpen one's observation skills and instill knowledge about the habits, signature marks, and physical features of local wildlife.
C. Diane Boretos has been tracking wildlife in New England and the Rocky Mountains for 15 years and has studied with master trackers such as Jim Halfpenny and Paul Rezendes. She has worked extensively in the field of conservation and wetlands protection, and is a certified professional wetland scientist and the principal biologist and founder of Call of the Wild Consulting and Environmental Services.
This program will take place outdoors for the full three hours, therefore participants must dress appropriately for the weather and be able to walk off trail. The program is in-depth and geared towards adults. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the Salt Pond Visitor Center at 508-255-3421, ext. 0. Space is limited.

Did You Know?
An abundance of sandy soil and shallow freshwater ponds for breeding make Cape Cod National Seashore an ideal landscape for Spadefoot Toads. A Threatened Species, the Seashore supports their largest known population in the Northeast. Some park roads are closed on rainy nights to protect them.
