Painter Kadri Brattvet is the featured artist for January at Cape Cod National Seashore's exhibition series, Perspectives: Seeing Cape Cod National Seashore through Art. Her oil on canvas landscapes depicting Cape Cod's coastal environments will be on exhibition through January 30 at the Salt Pond Visitor Center classroom in Eastham.

Kadri's paintings were created entirely on site from direct observation. This method, while often physically difficult, gives her work an authentic and original, artistic quality and spirit. The compositions, colors, textures, light—all aspects of the paintings—are inspired by her special vision of the subject she chooses to portray. The result is a work of art which is always fresh and alive, rewards repeated viewing, and inspires reflection and contemplation.

Kadri was born in Parnu, Estonia, and grew up in Buffalo, New York. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from Cornell University and has exhibited in the Boston and Cambridge areas as well as on Cape Cod. She currently resides full time in Brewster.
