Cape Cod National Seashore's Perspective Series, Seeing Cape Cod National Seashore Through Art, will showcase landscape photography by Jim Gillen in February.

Gillen's passion for photography has spurred him for more than 40 years, and he brought this fervor to one of his favorite photographic subjects, Cape Cod. Working on the other side of the aisle in the newspaper industry, as a reporter and editor in Greater Springfield, the Hampden, Massachusetts resident explored photography as a hobby through the years to expand his creativity. "Cape Cod, Nantucket Sound, the Atlantic Ocean and Cape Cod Bay are among my favorite subjects," he said. This is evident in the large number of seashore and water scenes that appear in his collection.

Gillen's photographs were featured in solo exhibits at the Hampden Public Library and Christ the King Lutheran Church in Wilbraham, Massachusetts. He won a Piedmont Award at the 13th Photography Show in Somers, Connecticut and the People's Choice Award at the Wilbraham Art League Photography Exhibit, both in 2013. He is a member of the Wilbraham Art League and the Quaboag Hills Photography Club in Palmer, Massachusetts.
