The History of the Castle

30 minute ranger guided tour of the history of Castle Clinton. Topics include its use as a fort, entertainment center, immigration depot, and aquarium.

Defending New York

Did you know that until recently, New York was one of the most heavily fortified cities in the United States? This park ranger guided program will illustrate the forts of the inner harbor and show that many of them still exist, although are being used for different purposes. the ranger will also discuss the importance of the harbor and why it was so well defended.
