Muskets and Cannonballs

The War of 1812 is one of those little know periods of American History. As a side show to the Napoleanonic Conflicts of Europe, it is often called the 2nd War for Americas Independence. 

There is no other way to bring this period of history alive to students then for them to meet a soldier stationed at Castle Clinton in 1812. In this 45 minute program, students will interact with a National Park Ranger in period uniform who will demonstrate musket drill, his arms and equipment and explain life in early New York.
