Fee Waivers

Your educational group is welcome to apply for a fee waiver.  To apply, please fill out the following sample letter with your group's information on official school letterhead.  Fee waiver requests that do not appear on school letterhead will not be considered.

Dear Superintendent:

(Name of school) requests a waiver of the entrance fee to visit Cabrillo National Monument.

Date of visit: Specify date.

Purpose of visit: State the academic reason for visiting Cabrillo National Monument. The reason must be specifically linked to curriculum requirements, (i.e. course title and learning objective number) in order to qualify for a fee waiver. Simply stating that the visit is for educational purposes does not meet the requirements. Home schools should state the specific subject for which the visit meets their learning objectives (i.e. history, social studies, etc.).

If interested in viewing an auditorium program, please specify desired film title and time (maximum 80 students per auditorium program).

If interested in visiting the tidepool area, please specify desired arrival and departure time (maximum 100 people per day).  Please note that vehicle transportation is REQUIRED to visit the tidepool area.

Students/adults 17 or older: State number.
