Distance Learning Education Programs

Cabrillo National Monument offers distance learning education programs to classes that are physically unable to visit the park. Using an HD video camera and Skype software, Cabrillo NM park rangers are able to hold live education programs over the internet. Check out the technical requirements below. Programs are offered from September through mid-June.

Programs offered include:

  • Exploring the Intertidal - The Tidepools of Cabrillo NM
  • Life: 1542 Style - Everday Life in Cabrillo's Time (Living History)
  • Arms and Armor - 16th Century Technology (Living History)
  • Life in the Old Point Loma Lighthouse (Living History)

Technical requirements:

Did You Know?

Whale tail

Did you know that Pacific Gray Whales make one of the longest migrations of all mammals?  They travel approximately 12,000 miles from the Arctic to Baja California and back again, and can be seen on their southward migration from Cabrillo National Monument.
