Road Construction
CAUTION!! Road construction will begin in Boxley Valley on Monday, April 22, 2013. Parking areas for wildlife viewing will be installed to alleviate congestion and increase safety during high traffic periods. Construction may last 180 days. More »
Operating Hours & Seasons
Access to the national river is open all year. VISITOR CENTER RANGER STATIONS Pruitt Ranger Station is open during the busy season from March through September. Operating days and hours may vary. Please call in advance to be sure the station is open. Phone (870) 446-5373. Visitor Center and Ranger Stations may have unscheduled closures in order for staff to provide organized programs. Please call ahead to the location you wish to visit to be sure it is open when you arrive.

Did You Know?
Did you know that there are no dams found on the Buffalo National River. In fact, a number of people realized this and fought to keep the river untouched by dam builders. On March 1, 1972, Congress established Buffalo National River as the country's first national river.
