General Management Plan Information and Comments

The General Management Plan will become the park's guide for making management decisions for the next 15 to 20 years, by providing a course for present and future administrations of the park. Your input is vital to insure a successful outcome.

While no one could have predicted the current economic situation, the General Management Plan has stalled due to budget cuts; however, we will remain ready to resume the process once approved.

Twilight on the Buffalo National River

Did you know that there are no dams found on the Buffalo National River. In fact, a number of people realized this and fought to keep the river untouched by dam builders. On March 1, 1972, Congress established Buffalo National River as the country's first national river.
