U.S. Veterans to be Admitted Free-of-Charge to Bryce Canyon National Park on Veterans Day, November 11

All National Park Service sites across the country, including Bryce Canyon National Park, will offer free visitor admission for U.S. veterans, active members of the U.S. armed forces and their families on Wednesday, November 11, 2009.

The fee waiver applies to entrance fees only. The duration of the free permit issued November 11 is for one day only regardless of the park's usual standard entrance permit period. Commercial tour entrance fees will not be waived.

On September 8, 2006, Secretary of the Interior Dirk Kempthorne and Secretary of Agriculture Mike Johanns announced the administrative fee waiver for veterans and members of the U.S. armed forces will apply annually on Veterans Day at public lands managed by both the Department of the Interior and the Department of Agriculture.

This annual fee-free day is in addition to National Public Lands Day, which is another annual fee-free day held in September. The Veterans Day fee waiver applies to November 11, regardless of the day of the week.
