Rivers and Trails Conservation Assistance:
ConservationWorks: Building Community Through Conservation
What does it really take to build a trail or protect a river?
Inspiration?...Organization?...Wild enthusiasm?...Community?
The Rivers & Trails program was created by the National Park Service (NPS) to provide assistance directly to communities, counties, states, regions, and nonprofit groups to protect the rivers and streams in their own backyards--and to build the hiking and biking trails that enable people to enjoy them. We bring our national perspective, capabilities, and experience to conservation and recreation projects driven by local initiatives. For over 10 years we have been a catalyst and a facilitator, helping communities produce results on the ground.
We can help make conservation work in your community
If your community needs creative approaches to river conservation or trail management--or to develop fundraising strategies, broaden your local support base, or enhance public awareness--we can help. Our involvement may range from only one month to three years, depending on the scope of the project, but our goal is to ensure the long-term success of the project. We measure our success by your achievements in making greenways, rivers and trails a vital, life-enhancing part of your community.
Call us when you're ready to get your project moving ahead.
