Boston Support Office
Branch of Fire and Aviation Management:

The Fire Management Officer Paul Head (on the
left) and the Structural Fire Specialist Joe Mazzeo (on the
right) together they bring over 45 years of extensive and varied fire experience to this
office.
The branch of Fire and Aviation Management is responsible for wildland fire
program management for the Northeast Region, structural fire management and aviation
management within the Boston Support Office and to other units as requested.
The Fire Management Officer provides direction and policy interpretation of NPS,
NWCG and NIFC guidelines and directives; develops and administers the FIREPRO budget;
coordinates fire use projects; facilitates wildland fire training; and manages the
aviation program.
The Structural Fire Specialist provides technical assistance in the protection of lives
and structures from fire; including fire management planning, inspections,
detection/suppression system design, education and training.
