Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area
Volunteer

There are many ways to help us protect the Boston Harbor Islands and serve visitors.
  • Help during public volunteer events, such as beach clean-ups or "bioblitzes."
  • Volunteer as an individual on your own project, e.g. photography or a park internship.
  • Join a stewardship or visitor services team, like the volunteers conducting tours of Boston Light or those removing non-native, invasive plants.
  • Bring your group for a service day in the park.

The National Park Service coordinates volunteer opportunities for the Boston Harbor Islands Partnership. Several organizations help by managing volunteers in the park. Contact us if you have questions about volunteering.
