Green Ambassadors are students between the ages of 15-18 employed for the summer doing environmental stewardship projects. The program is run in partnership by Thompson Island Outward Bound Education Center and National Park Service. Green Ambassadors focus on trail maintenance and building projects, participate in citizen science and activities, perform public outreach, and explore a variety of environmental careers. Youth are trained to develop leadership skills, build positive relationships with peers, and educate their communities about Boston Harbor Islands national park area. Boston Harbor Green Ambassador Network was started by alumni and posts news of the program, upcoming application deadlines and other academic and career opportunities for Boston youth.
Applications for Summer 2014 season are now available. The deadline for applications is Tuesday, March 14, 2014. However, applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis, so the sooner you apply the better.
