The Blue Ridge National Heritage Area is located in the heart of the southeastern United States, within a few hours’ drive of Atlanta, Nashville, Charleston, Charlotte, and Raleigh.  Asheville is the largest city in the North Carolina mountains and is served by the Asheville Regional Airport.

Did You Know?
The first school of forestry in America was established in the North Carolina mountains. It is now preserved as the Cradle of Forestry National Historic Site- located within the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area.
