Parkway Ramps at US 220 Closed for Repaving
(Roanoke, VA) — Alternating closure of Highway 220 access ramps, located at milepost 121.4 on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Roanoke, Virginia, will be required for repaving operations.
The south access ramp will be closed beginning March 2nd and is expected to reopen in approximately one month, or no later than March 13th. The north ramp will close when the south ramp reopens, beginning on or about March 15th until approximately April 30th, when reconstruction on both ramps is expected to be complete.
Detour traffic signage will direct motorists to the open ramp. Turnaround within nearby intersections on Highway 220 will also be signed. Variable message signs informing the public which ramp will be closed will be placed on Highway 220 and on the Parkway. Ramp closures will take place during the construction period, from Tuesday at 9:00 AM until Friday at 6:00 AM, and reopened during weekends for the duration of the reconstruction.
