The National Park Service (NPS) has issued a revised prospectus for concessions business opportunities along the Blue Ridge Parkway.The prospectus is for offers for a 10-year concession contract to provide Lodging, Food and Beverage, Retail and Other Services at Peaks of Otter with an option to provide similar services at Otter Creek Restaurant and Gift Shop and Bluffs Lodge and Coffee Shop.The prospectus was also revised to reflect the significantly reduced required initial investment.


The Peaks of Otter, near Bedford, VA, includes a three building, 63-room lodge overlooking Abbott Lake and Sharp Top Mountain, a restaurant, lounge and gift shop, a Country Store and a shuttle bus to the top of Sharp Top Mountain.The Bluffs Lodge and Coffee Shop at Doughton Park, near Laurel Springs, NC, includes a 24-room lodge, a restaurant and a gift shop.The Otter Creek Restaurant, near Big Island, VA, includes a restaurant and gift shop, adjacent to a NPS managed campground.

The prospectus describes the business opportunity and includes the terms and conditions of the concession contract. The prospectus is available on the NPS website at: http://concessions.nps.gov/ commercial services/prospectuses.htm.

To request a hard copy of the prospectus to be delivered via Federal Express, send a check for $50.00 payable to the National Park Service to: Mark Morgan, Concessions Management Specialist, Southeast Region, NPS, AFC, 1924 Building, 100 Alabama Street, S.W., Atlanta, GA 30303.Please include a physical address (no post office box) and telephone number. You may also pick up a printed copy at the Superintendent's Office at the Blue Ridge Parkway Headquarters for $45.00 (checks only). No telephone requests for the prospectus will be honored.

If you are planning to submit a proposal and have obtained your prospectus from the website, we recommend that you advise Mark Morgan, (404) 507-5638, or e-mail us, of your interest so you can be notified of any additional information specific to the prospectus. The same information will be posted to the above mentioned website.
