At 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 10th, Blue Ridge Parkway uniformed employees will join the nation-wide salute to fallen National Park Service Ranger Margaret Anderson who was killed by a gunman during a traffic stop at Mount Rainier National Park on January 1st. Employees in Blue Ridge Parkway offices throughout Virginia and North Carolina will be asked to join in a moment of silence and honor for Ranger Anderson and the loved ones left behind. Additionally, a "Last Radio Call" will be made park-wide at this time. Uniformed employees will assemble outdoors, face west and salute at the end of the broadcast. A last radio call affirms with the agency and the family that the National Park Service shall not forget the commitment and sacrifices of fallen rangers.

Flags at Blue Ridge Parkway buildings will fly at half staff on January 10th.
