The Blue Ridge Parkway, in cooperation with the US Forest Service, will implement a limited closure of the Mount Pisgah trail located at Milepost 407.6. The television broadcasting tower located at the top of Mount Pisgah is scheduled to undergo upgrading of select antennae which will require closure of the top of the mountain to visitor access while the rehabilitation activities are being conducted. The viewing platform will be closed, as well as the immediate area around the TV tower. The closure will begin on Friday, August 27, 2010, and will last until Thursday, September 2, 2010.

The trailhead and parking area will remain open, as will the bottom half of the trail. Hikers will be able to walk within a quarter mile of the top but will not be allowed to progress further.
