The Cimarron area road beyond the campground and ranger station will be closed Monday, May 3 through Saturday, May 8 to begin the restoration process on Engine 278 and its attached cars. Vehicle traffic will be permitted into the campground and ranger station area. The entire road, from Highway 50 in, may be closed for brief intervals during the week. The road beyond the campground may be open intermittently to foot and bicycle travel as safe conditions allow. Dam tours previously scheduled with the Bureau of Reclamation will be escorted through the closure.
