River Bend Farm Visitor Center is located in a 1,000 acre state park along the Blackstone River Canal and towpath. The Visitor Center is part of the Blackstone River and Canal Heritage State Park; offering walking and hiking paths, canoe access, picnic and wildlife watching areas. It is open year-round, seven days a week, during daylight hours.

Directions:
From Route 122 in Uxbridge, turn east onto East Hartford Avenue, proceed one mile, take a right onto Oak Street. Center is a red barn down the street on the left.

Child mill workers  

Did You Know?
Children as young as age six were hired to work in the textile mills of the Blackstone River Valley. These adolescent workers were employed by the Lonsdale Company, c. 1912. Photos such as this helped lead to the passage of child labor laws.
