  • Woodlands Trail Closure

The Woodlands Trail in the Big Sandy Creek Unit will be closed August 19-29 and September 2-12, 2014, while park staff and an AmeriCorps crew apply herbicide to trifoliate orange, an invasive non-native shrub that has become problematic in that area.

The Big Thicket National Preserve bookstore, located in the visitor center, carries a wide selection of publications, DVDs, souvenirs, and Junior Ranger items. These items are made available through the Western National Parks Association, a non-profit cooperating association based in Arizona.

Items purchased at our bookstore ultimately benefit the Preserve and our visitors. A percentage of all sales comes back to the Preserve so that we can further assist our visitors through publications development and other services.

Please call us at 409-951-6722 for information about our sales items. Purchases can be made via phone by using a credit card. There is a charge for shipping.
