The National Park Service makes every effort to keep the public informed about news events, accomplishments, employee recognitions, special and re-occurring events which occur within and around the units of the Park Service.

Big South Fork annually publishes a park newspaper which focuses on up-coming events for the year and contains articles of interest to the reader.

Big South Fork provides press releases to local and regional newspapers, the park also posts current news releases, past news releases and newsletters on its web site.

Cumberland sandwort

Cumberland sandwort is one of several species of threatened and endangered plants found throughout Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area.  Cumberland sandwort only grows in the dry sandy soils of certain rockshelters found in and around Big South Fork.
