Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area will be hosting the Twelfth Annual Spring Planting Festival on Saturday, April 28, 2012. Traditional arts and crafts will be included as part of the festival throughout the day. The park would like to take this opportunity to extend an invitation to all interested crafts persons, musicians and volunteers to participate in this year's Spring Planting Festival.

The National Park Service's policy regarding arts and craft sales allows for the sales of demonstrated arts and crafts during the Spring Planting Festival. For those demonstrators interested in selling crafts or having a booth during this one-day festival the fee is $25.00. Craft persons will need to bring their own tent, table and chairs.

If you are interested in selling your craft items during this year's event, contact the Park Special Uses Coordinator, Letitia Casada at 423-569-2404 ext 267 or tish_casada@nps.gov. All applications need to be received no later than Friday April 20th.

Volunteers are always welcome to demonstrate only and other volunteers are needed to assist with event activities. Please contact Volunteer Coordinator, Sue Duncan at (423) 286-7275 or sue_duncan@nps.gov.

For further information on this special event as well as other events, call the Bandy Creek Visitor Center at 423-286-7275.
